ECCO-UK-Partner Pagefield wins inaugoral ECCO Award 2019
December 2019, London: London-based agency Pagefield has been announced as the recipient of the inaugural ECCO Award 2019 for its public relations campaign, ‘Helping a challenger bank take flight’ with Starling Bank, the UK’s leading digital challenger bank.
Out of twenty-seven entries submitted by 12 ECCO partner agencies, Pagefield was credited for helping support Starling’s journey to become one of the fastest growing digital banks in Europe, reshaping banking for the better. It’s efforts to promote Starling’s pioneering current and business accounts, has seen the business recently surpass one million accounts.
In its first year, the ECCO Award was launched as a way of celebrating the creative and exciting work carried out by agencies across the ECCO global network of independent communications agencies in over 40 countries.
Other case studies shortlisted for the award included ad publica PR’s campaign for The Gin Mare (Germany) and O’connection’s PR work for The International Rungis Market (France), Pressman PR of India for their work on Blue Star and On Board from Poland for their project NN Investment. Entries were judged by five ECCO representatives from Egypt, India, Austria, Australia and the United States against a criteria to demonstrate clear strategy, effective stakeholder communication, persuasive storytelling and creative concepts.
Christian Kollmann, Chairperson of the ECCO Network, commented: “This year’s award featured a particularly high standard and each of the 27 submissions we received showcased the amazing talent we have within the ECCO network. Pagefield’s campaign stood out for the outstanding execution of its strategy and impressive use of media relations that helped Starling Bank soar. The results speak for themselves.”

The award winner was announced at ECCO’s autumn conference held in London, where the five shortlisted submissions presented their entries to over 20 representatives from across the network.
